What are the requirements to be on the drill team?

Should I try out for drill team?

• About 2 months ago ot seemed like a good idea because 8 girls are graduating & they're looking for 8-15 girls, & I live in a small town where like no girls try out for it, and i've always wanted to check out dance because my parents wont let me take classes. But lately I dont think it's a good idea. Im not your typical girl to try out for drill team, the girls that tryout are the girls that spend 2hrs on their makeup, super almost anorexic skinny, & are the girls that are tryed out for cheerleading but didnt make it. Im deff not like that, im in band, & theater, i suck at sports & i know & im not afraid to admit it, I dye my hair crazy colors, but my main color is cherry red, & ill always say whats on my mind. The girls on the dance team at my school are labeled as whores & sluts & theyre just mean girls! 2 of my friends are trying out, one of them is already acting like she's on the team & the other one im sure wont turn if she makes it because shes just not like that. I dont want to be labeled a slut & I dont want to be judged because of my hair, plus the teams not even that good. They ACT like they're good, but they never place in any competetions. Im in band & id like to try color guard this year. It looks fun & there will probabley be less competition because im only going against a few girls in band. Plus the instructor is super nice & usualy lets us pick the songs to spin too & sometimes theres dancing in there too & no ones labeled automatically a whore unless you REALLY are one. & you dont have to pay for everything your self like you do in drill team'. But theres more practices, not only is there band camp, which you have to go to, but sometimes Saturday practices somtimes & after school practices, I love the teacher, but seriously, shes only nice for so long before you just want to stab yourself. Drill team is $780 to do, Color Guard is like $100, and making Drill team, the chances of me making it are AWESOME! Better than they will be next year, I dont know what to do! Help?

  I really think you should tryout. Color guard is so much fun and it sounds like it would be perfect for you :) Im about to go into my 3rd year of guard and i love it! As for the anorexic make-up-obsessed girls, im not really sure what to tell you. Most of the girls in my guard arent like that.
