  • hi im new to photography and i just bought a really nice camera, how can i get started by becoming a pro photographer and how can i sell my photos or become more known.

    You now have the tool all you have to do is learn how to use it, I have a Steinway piano, doesn't make me a concert pianist good enough to get paid for my performances. Chris

Spend the next 3 to 5 years or so learning about photography and business properly and maybe, just maybe, you will find you are good enough to start thinking about "going pro".

If your serious about it, learn your craft. A person wanting to pursue photography as a profession is going to get a degree in photography. There's SO much more to learn about photography then using a camera and taking pretty pictures. Respect the craft- there is A LOT more to it. Learn about the people who paved the way, learn about the photographers who are majority influential. Part of being a professional is knowing where you come from.

First learn everything you can about photography so that you can create anything your mind imagines with a camera. After that you should try to be an assistant to photographers that shoot what you like to shoot. You will slowly learn about the business and in time become an independent photographer.
