What type of battery and film do I need for my camera?
-
I have a Minolta Vectis 200, and it uses APS film and I need battery for it but I do not know what kind of battery.. I do not have the manual for the camera. What kind of battery does this camera use? also I wanted to buy film for the camera but when we asked they said nobody sells it anymore, I found it on amazon though and I was just wondering if when I get it printed out I can get it printed out like any other kind of film. I usually take my film to Costco to get it printed, but that's a different type of film (for my Asahi Pentax K1000). Please include links for the answers, and if there's anything else you think it would be useful for me to know about this camera please include that too :) thanks!

Answer:
Getting the film processed is no problem. You can send it out to Dwaynes for that: http://www.dwaynesphoto.com/newsite2006/color-neg-processprint.html Buying film is wherever you find it. There are tons of it on Ebay and I have even found unopened boxes of it across the street at the Goodwill store. In many cases, the film will be expired, but don't let that stop you. Do not use the film for any critical photos where color accuracy is important. Use it for fun snapshots that you are not too concerned about coming out perfect. I think APS is a neat format for small snapshot cameras and don't know why it was never fully successful. But it was popular enough that there are still plenty of APS cameras and film about and labs still process it. steve

You are going to have to ask Costco if they can process APS film The closest user manual I could find is the Vectis 300 http://www.butkus.org/chinon/minolta_point_and_shoot/minolta_vectis_300/minolta_victis_300.htm I can see that finding film for your camera is problematic, for sure. It seems that Fujifilm still sells it. http://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-Speed-Film-Exposures-Pack/dp/B00004TWM2

CR2 Google manual for that camera if you need one. There are several places to dl one. APS is an obsolete failed format. You will still be able to find film for a while. The commercial labs are still processing it. Most minilabs have stopped, though.
