My monitor won't turn on when I switch on my pc.?
-
When I switched on my pc my monitor didn't turn on. So I restarted and it gave me the same problem again. I tested my monitor on another pc and it worked so I know my monitor is working. I switched my monitor cable and still the same problem. So I opened my case and took out my GT 240 video card and put it in my other pc to test it and it worked, so I know my video card is working. Then I put a GT 9600 in and still my monitor didn't turn on. Then I put a GF 8400 in and it worked but I didn't want that video card in because it sucks! So I took it out and plugged my cable into my motherboard without a video card plugged in so that I could test my onboard graphics and to get into my BIOS settings but my monitor didn't turn on. So I thought the only way to get onto my pc was to use the GF 8400, so I put the card in but then it gave me the same problem like it did with my other 2 cards. And iv tried switching monitors but it doesn't work. And my monitor will get a signal but it will stay off like you leave it when u shutdown your pc. And I also know that my motherboard is fine. Iv been stuck for a week. Please help!

Answer:
Screens can not turn on for a few reasons... #1 It is just bad. If this is the case just get a new one. The proce on them are droping so fast you will be beter off and most places dont service them. #2 If your computer savy you can try this. Open your computer case and remove all the PCI cards ( The video card, sound, network, modem, and the little watch battery on the main board.) then you put them all into the same spot( REMEMBER WHERE YOU TOOK THEM OUT FROM) and turn on the computer. turn it back on. #3 Same as #2 BUT Before you put all the cards back in just put the battery in and turn it on if it comes on it was one of the cards causing it. If this works start by putting the cards back in one by one ( TURNING THE COMPUTER ON AND OFF AFTER EACH ONE to see what card was causing it.) I really hope this helps.

your monitor is in power save mode, turn it on and when the screen is still blank, just click enter or move the mouse :D

Simply, turn them on separately. Most monitors have an individual power button. Sometimes the connection between the monitor and other software is fried and unless you wish to purchase the another monitor the best thing to do is to turn them on individually.

theres a computer at my collage with the same problem and me and my mate are trying to fix it but, he thinks that theres not enough power going into the computer so it only powers the computer its self and not the screen

TRY holding down the blue FN button near to space bar, and then click f4-f5 whatever one looks like a Blue TV screen on the same button as the F" keys at top ..... should switch computer to monitor.
