Will the warranty on my HP laptop cover?

Laptop Problems (hp 635?

  • My HP 635 laptop was dropped last night. I was doing homework on it and i went to go sit on the couch but the power cord was wrapped under the chair and I dropped it. The battery fell out, I put it back in. I started up the laptop and it said "starting windows" for like 5 minutes. I restarted it and there was an error code status:0xc00000e9 does this mean that the hard dive is broken??? and I have a warranty on the laptop, will hp cover the broken hard drive? Thanks!

  • Answer:

Accidental damage is not covered under the standard factory warranty. Contact HP customer support tell them the operating system will not load and give them the error code and nothing else about it. They may have you take it in or just send you a new hard drive and you will need the operating system recovery disc set made for the laptop to install the original operating system onto a new hard drive. Make sure that the power adapter still works as if it was jerked hard it could have broken the power port jack pin lose from the mother board.
