Acer Aspire Webcam 'Camera No Found' How do i get it to work again?

  • Hi, i have an Acer Aspire One Netbook AO531h and i'm having a a problem with my built in Crystal Eye Webcam. Recently i installed Windows 7 on to the Netbook, and at first everything worked fine well i thought it did until i tried opening my Webcam, it would read 'Camera No Found' and if i tried to use it on Skype the camera would be all green with a small image in the corner of what the webcam could see. A few days ago i reinstalled Windows XP onto my Netbook which was what was originally on the Netbook and now the Webcam is not installed, cannot be detected and if i try to install the drivers to get it back it won't let me continue with the installation as it pops up with 'The WebCam has not found! Please plug in the WebCam and then run the installation again' which is stupid because theres a perfectly good camera built in!!! Does anyone have any ideas/help on how to fix this problem and get my Web Cam working again?

    install your webcam software available in the dvd included upon purchase..if you don't have one download here: http://support.acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1 choose your model and find the software you need. install it. And that should work fine with windows 7

Hello there are 2 possible issues here, please read below... 1. FUNCTION key + blue camera icon somewhere between 1-9, look at picture by pressing these 2 buttons together...you camera may turn on... 2. you need to download the driver in order for the webcam to work, goto acwer website/ support and drivers, select your model and download driver for webcam windows 7. hope it helps.
