How to get the timestamp of linux kernel?

Obj command not found linux?

  • I'm trying to learn linux kernel programming and i have this book called "The Linux Kernel Module programming Guide" its for the 2.6 kernel. Now when i get to section 2.2 where i have to compile the kernel module it wants me to use the obj command. In the book it looks like this obj-m += hello-1.o. When i type in obj-m i get the error obj: command not found. I then tried just obj and i still got the same error. I even used the command "which obj" to see if i can find it that way but once again i receive the same command not found error. I want the obj command so i can continue to go through book and learn kernel programming.
