How much is a 1998 mustang worth? rebuilt V6 new paint new clutch?

Which mustang should i get?

  • Hi, names josh and im debating whether to get a 1967 mustang C-code 289 with c4 or 2002 mustang v6 5speed as my daily driver. The 67 looks to be in very good shape, 134,000 original, miles almost no rust, original power steering, new power front disk and rear drum system, freshly rebuilt 289, bored .060, new Edelbrock intake and 600carb w/ electric choke, new exhaust, and new tires.new full length floor pans, new carpet, dash pad heater plenum and Grant steering wheel. Front seats are from a 2004 Gt, black leather. . It needs a headliner, minimal body work and paint. drives very well, tranny shifts smoothly, the seller has owned it for 4 yrs and never had any problems with the c4. he's wanting $4200. the 2002 has 157,000, kind of badly cracked rear bumper(its taped up) drives a little rough but still ok. no smoking or knocking, no check engine light, ugly 20in rims(which i would replace with bullits) paint blemishes and is being sold for $3698 at this dealership. (this dealership is really known for selling bad cars). Which one would be the better choice? really swaying towards the 67, love the mustangs of old and very familiar with the 289 engine

  • Answer:

Older V6 mustangs (as in 90s and early 2000s) tend to blow head gaskets,I would NOT buy one. Out of your choices I vote for the 67.

well this is tuff... if the dealership sells bad cars and it does not run good you should probably go with the 67
