How to become president of Diversity Club?
-
We have a Diversity Club at our school, which discusses issues on unequal and unfair treatment of different people based on gender, race, sexuality, etc. I'm almost done with freshman year and I have been a member of this club since the beginning of this year and hope to become the president of this club in order to put it on my college application and hopefully be accepted into a good school. The only problem I have is the leader of the club, who is also my English teacher, favors another girl over me and wants to make sure she is president. She's one of my good friends and I'm really happy for her, but I honestly don't think she deserves to become president of the Diversity Club because of her... crappy... attempt at being responsible. I don't mean to come off as rude, but she doesn't even finish ANY of her homework or study AT ALL... she has no responsibilities and is only favored by the club leader because they've become close... She's also not open minded at all... She has no respect for any ethnicity/race (she's Indian-American) or LGBT people. Her views on homosexuality are also completely off and unreasonable and she sticks to 'old fashion' strict gender stereotypes. She even told me that she doesn't want to be seen talking to me next to her cousins because I'm "too gay" which obviously made me question why she's in the Diversity Club... I'm not saying this out of jealousy at all, but I seriously think she doesn't deserve to become president. I know that I might sound cocky by saying that I would make a better president, but I'm much more open minded, free, ambitious, and organized... plus it wouldn't hurt to put on my college application! How do I convince the club leader to not make her the president without sounding rude..??! thanks:)

Answer:
"Her views on homosexuality are also completely off and unreasonable and she sticks to 'old fashion' strict gender stereotypes." This is the diversity club. Diversity includes race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, and diversity of thought. Even if it's not the most popular ideology.
