What kind of dark magic users were there?

Trying to make a character for a manga, and i want to know what kind of DARK magic users there have been in the past (argue if you want). Thanks in advance :)

Witches were one set that did use dark magic or black magic. Some called them Black Witches. I jave heard that Mages and Ceremonial Magicians did as well. To them I am not as certain. The arguement about black/dark magic versus other shades continue to this day. Maybe the question would be good in the games departmemt as well.
