How much money do doctors get?

Which aspect should Doctors enjoy more: Helping people, or the Money they get from Helping people?

  • Just wondering what your opinion is. Go ahead and answer this question with another question (because I know so many of you will), but I want you to tell me which type of doctor you would prefer. I am aware there are doctors who like both, obviously. I'm just wondering which they should like more.

    To answer your question; Tom, as a health care provider I can say that its both, the joy of helping people goes hand in hand with getting paid a wage that reflects the time, effort, and sacrifices that people who work in the care of others deserve. Once the joy runs out of caring for someone then most doctors retire and move on, that usually happens when they strain of finances overcomes the joy of providing care...That goes for Doctors, Nurses, Emergency Medical Personnel...

They "should" like whichever part they want to like. As long as they do their job well it doesn't matter.

I don't care which they enjoy more, I want the most qualified and brightest person. Typically, postal worker wages do not attract this, see the failed British medical system.

Probably helping people... family doctors don't make nearly as much as specialists do. I don't really care if they are in it for the money if they are good at their job.. good, but with a bad bedside manner.

I'm a Database Administrator. What aspect of my job should I enjoy more? Helping the user community or the money I get from helping them? I'll give you a hint. I like helping users, but it's the paycheck that keeps me gonig to work. Why should doctors be held to a different moral standard?

My dentist loves money, and I have nice choppers. Doctors? Give me a humanitarian please. But I don't want a humanitarian that is a holistic healer.

Helping people. If they do this their Business can be more successful. For example, Chick-fil-a is focused primarily on serving. This is why it is one of the most famous businesses that is said will never stop growing.
