What are some tips I can use for a job interview?

Joining the australian army as a supply coordinator (yardie), could use some help for the interview?

  • Well just to tell you Little more about myself, im 19 turning 20, im in the state emergency service specialising within the recon and logistics unit, been on countless emergency operations/ jobs / call outs and have rarely ever said no to a job, i work part time at a warehouse doing general duties and assisting in the management of intake and out take of the stores so just general logistics duties, i go to gym 6 days a week for 1 and half to 2 hours a day i box 2 nights a week and do muy thai fighting 2 nights a fortnight, i also live near a national park so i do a 9km up and down hill climb with just under 20kg of weight in webbing and pack on me i do this every friday with my older brother. i am extremely fit i know i can destroy the PFA which is the minimum fitness requirement for kapooka, last i checked which was 2 months ago i could get 10.2 in the beep test, do 60 push ups and about 100 sit ups, and i have definitely increased in strength and stamina then as i have been seeing a dietitian and a personal trainer and they conducted a fitness test proving i have. ive worked in logistics since i was 14, i have had different part time jobs during school but have always had a role in some form of logistics, alot of people in my SES unit are former or current defence force personnel alot of which have served in vietnam, soloman islands and or are in the reserves at our local unit. I have already failed the interview once before, i was interviewed by a lady in the navy and i answered all her questions very well as i have a very long and rich knowledge about modern history and military history especially about our country. the only question i got wrong was the conditions of service, i told her all the conditions of service except the most obvious one which is the zero tolerance for non medical use of drugs and zero tolerance for harassment and excessive use of alcohol. aside from that she said she wants me to come back in 6 months time and show her how motivated i am to be in the army. (not that i wasn't motivated in the first place i think she just didn't really catch it because ive wanted to be a digger since i was very young and it has always been my dream job) any whom my question is the following i have gotten in touch with my cousin who is a captain in the air force and my unit commander in the SES who is a former corporal who was a vietnam combat veteran and they want to help me start my life long career in the army, would there references actually help? another question would be is there any points i should excessively try to get across the board to the interview because i believe that was what got me the first time around and another question would be does it look well and or would they take into account that i am trying yet again to get into the job i want and to serve? other than that any criticism or tips are much appreciated thank you in advance everyone. :)
