How to use gym equipment?

  • This is a basic question but not sure how to go by on how to use gym equipment i never used before? To understand more in detail, i join a gym maybe a month ago but decided to take these classes till im use to the routine and my body is use to the work-out. Well im not feeling sore anymore and been considering on hitting the gym on my own and off days of the classes. However, since this is my first time joining a gym i don't know how to use most of equipment nor do i understand what equipment is good to use for what muscles? im not fat but need more work on upper body. Is this common that people don't know how to use the equipemtn? Should i ask how to use certain equipment or should i just try it myself? Also, if anyone knows a good website for beginning work-out related questions like what to eat, drink, muscle groups and what to do and not to do would be very helpful, thanks.
