Can I get lingual braces on the NHS?

Can i get un-noticable braces free on the NHS?

  • Right im getting braces done on the NHS so there free but i was wondering if its a option to get the clear ones for do you have to pay extra for them if not could i get them done behind my teeth? or again would i have to more for it to be done?

  • Answer:

Nope, you'll probably get the bog standard braces that everyone has. Unless your teeth are really badly overcrowded then you might get Damon braces which are the ones private orthodontists use as they are smaller and less noticeable (which I had because my teeth were very bad), But the actual invisible ones I think cost £2,000. But personally I don't think its worth it, the NHS ones are fine and no one will care cause they're the ones every gets ;)

No you can't, you can get colourless braces which are braces just silver but you can't get invisible.

Lucky you for meeting the criteria and being offered NHS orthodontics. But it is a clearly defined plan and like everyone else you get what you are offered and it will not be invisible braces. If you want the invisible ones then you have to opt out of the NHS treatment plan and continue on a private basis. This can cost anything from 2,000 to 5,500 depending on your clinical need. They so not offer mix and match of private and NHS in orthodontics.

No. You can get invisible braces from private orthodontists however.
