Passion for their subject, and the passion of inspiring others with their passion. A teacher who loves what they teach, and when it is obvious to the students, is a teacher who can make any class into an interesting class for students. Also, when they realize that it isn't about making sure every student loves the course (though that's ideal). As long as at least one student is inspired in one way, their work is accomplished :)
