What are the chances of me getting into my program of study?

What are my chances of getting into grad school?

  • Im only a freshman in the Ball State University Architecture program and i want to know my chances of getting into Pratt Institute or Pennsylvania University Grad School program. I expect to have around 3.0 gpa , do internships and study abroad. Those are practically ivy league schools and I wonder if a Ball State Undergrad even has a chance at getting into those programs. If I am way out of my league what other grad programs are good on the east coast Im only a freshman so i still have a lot of time to raise my gpa if that really makes a difference.

  • Answer:

3.0 is the minimum GPA that graduate schools will consider. That basically means they won't immediately throw out your application, but you're at the bottom of the stack. Many grad programs have admissions rates less than 10%, or much less - everyone applying is very qualified, and they're only going to take the best. That means you need a high GPA, high GRE scores, and great experience in your field to get into a good program. Even lower ranked programs can expect a 3.5 GPA or higher from good candidates.
