What should I do to become a Radiologic Technologist?

How do I become a Radiologic Technologist?

  • I live in Los Angeles, and I recently graduated high school and I want to become an RT. What is the best way to become an RT? Are there any trade schools in Los Angeles that offer an Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology? Or do I have to go to a community college? I would rather not go to a community college because they make you take 2 years of generals and I feel like thats almost a waste of time, also its pretty hard to even get into the program there. I know there are hospital based programs as well, but the require you to have college classes completed, correct? Please let me know any information you know about it! Thank you! :)

  • Answer:

Wherever you go, you will need the college classes. A community college would be the place to start. I know you don't want to take the regular classes, but to get a degree you will have to take them. EDIT: It is extremely competitive to get in. Make sure you have a good GPA and practice interviewing for admission.
