How do you decide on a college?

How do I decide on what I should do after college?

  • I'm studying General Arts in college and I still have two more years left. And I'm supposed to choose between the subjects of History, Cinema History and Literature to do for next year. But also my parents, especially my dad, are asking me what I want to do after college. But I don't know what because everytime I make a suggestion to my dad he's like "No you can't do that as a profession" or "How do you expect to become that". I mean I know it's hard to get a job but sometimes it seems I can't do anything after college. I mean so much for you can be whoever you want to be.

  • Answer:

Talk to a career counselor at your university. Decide on at least one dream job and also on one or more backup plan jobs (jobs in demand that you would not mind doing). Try your best to get into a career track that will lead to your dream job. If that does not work out after six months, switch to your backup plan. Do not give up your dreams without trying to achieve them.

Other answers

General Arts, History, Cinema History and Literature all have extremely poor career outlooks. If you are passionate about a field, go for it. But be aware that you will have a difficult time finding a job after you graduate. https://sites.google.com/site/paul7collegeinfo/home/how-to-pick-a-career-and-major
