I want to make an audio amplifier with these speakers...i bought these speakers individually without any music system.. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/51440399/1.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/51440399/2.jpg Now, i don't know which components should be used and what are their power ratings? http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-Simple-Audio-Amplifier/ I visited this site(^^the above one)..It shows how to make an amplifier circuit but is doesn't tell which speakers should be used. So I am confused. Well, I hope i can get some good and helpful answers :) Trying to be more clear : I want to use this circuit as an amplifier so that i can connect my ipod and play music on that..:)

Answer:
To make a good amplifier you need quite a bit of experience, so I wouldn't try if you have none. Transistor amps are generally very reliable, so I would recommend you buy a used amplifier on Ebay, people are always upgrading and you can get a bargain. If you are nervous of buying used equipment you could wait until something turns up locally, then ask to try it out. Ignore the 180 watt rating, it is not realistic. Even the 35 watts may be an exaggeration. I suggest you buy an amplifier which delivers 50 watts rms per channel into 4 ohms. It is always better to have an amplifier which can deliver more power than the speakers need, then it will not be operating at its limit and will run cooler and last longer. Don't buy a car amplifier unless you plan to use the speakers in a car, because then you will need to buy a power supply to convert mains AC voltage down to 12 volts DC. If you buy an amplifier cheap, it doesn't matter if it's a bit more powerful than you need, for example if a 100 watt per channel amp comes up and you can buy it cheap, that's ok as long as you are sensible enough not to turn the volume right up.

The amplifier you wish to make puts out around 1/2 watt, which will not work well with those Sony speakers. You will need 10-15 watts minimum, for so-so sound quality. Your speakers are also 4 ohm, so make sure any amp you choose is capable of driving a 4 ohm speaker. Car audio amplifiers are better suited for 4 ohm loads, altho, some amps will have no problem with it. You just have to pay attention to the specs.
