What does it mean by an "expository essay"?

I'm applying to get into an english course at a local university. They state that I must provide a two page expository essay along with my application. Do you have any idea what they mean? There are many types of expository essays and I am clueless right now...

It is write, there are many types of expository essays...but you are writing it as a test for admission in an university, so write an essay which what kind of student you would be for their classes. I mean give them some positive information about your personality in the form of an essay, also write, why do you want to do this course, what are the advantages of joining an english course...etc. Just reveal yourself in essay form in a proper way...that must be sounds like an essay not like a resume.....best wishes..
