Why isn't Metal Gear Solid 4 avaliable for PC?

  • It's been almost 4 years. I know piracy is a big issue. But they could at least put it with steam. It would be amazing on PC

    When it comes down to it, making video games is a business and as with any business it comes down to a cost-benefit issue. I guess Konami didn't think the cost of porting to the PC would be worth the earnings. At this stage, I guess the average gamer's rig wouldn't be able to handle MGS4. Most PCs don't even have a Blu-Ray drive at this point (and yes, while they could release it digitally, they would lose out on the large profits from the disc sales). All that being said, just like several other console exclusives (most mysteriously Fable 2), I REALLY wish the game had been ported to the PC.

It has absolutely nothing to do with piracy, it's merely because the game is a PS3 exclusive, the same way you'll never see Uncharted on PC, or Killzone, etc.

MGS4 uses bluray disc technology. you'd have to have a beastly computer to run it...so it probably isn't worth the money for Konami to Port it over.
