Where did the Jehovah's Witnesses get all of their changes from Christianity to Jehovah's Witness?
-
Obviously Jehovah's Witness and Christianity relate in many ways. In fact, Its easy to say at this point that Jehovah's Witness originated from Christianity and if not, Then the same scriptures that gave birth to Christianity. My question being, Where did they get all the changes to the Religion? Then after they found these changes they called it Jehovah Witness. Where did they get the name Jehovah for example? Where did the difference in beliefs come from? Because Jehovah's Witness to me sounds like a Cherry Picked Religion since its such an edited form of faith. Its just really strange to me how there can be more than one way to believe in Jesus. And thats coming from an Atheist.

That's a lot of questions. In the 1870's, a small group of bible students who were disillusioned by their churches, began an intense study of the scriptures, letting "scripture interpret scripture." Someone in the group would raise a biblical subject, and they used a bible concordance, looking up everything the bible had to say on the subject and write down their conclusion. For the next few decades they were known as, and referred to themselves as Bible Students. That small group is now over 7 million in over 136 lands. In 1931 they officially adopted the name Jehovah's Witnesses based on Isa43:10-13. Jehovah is the English translation of God's personal name. The Hebrew Tetragrammaton is YHWH. His name is found in the original scriptures over 7,000 times and differs from the titles of God and Lord. Your bible may have Jehovah in it at Pslams83:18. Weather it does or not, somewhere in your bible (forward, appendix, etc...) it will tell you that any time you see GOD or LORD as opposed to God or Lord, YHWH (or the personal name Jehovah) was removed and replaced with a title. It became tradition to remove his name based on superstitions. Jesus, and later his apostles, said that true worship would be hidden by a false form of Christianity. “It will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction.” 2Thes2:1-12 Matthew 13:24-30 and Matthew 13:36-41 is to much to quote here so read it if you want. It's an illustration of how a person would not be able to tell true worship from false worship until the last days. Christianity took a radical change in direction and beliefs when Roman Emporor Constintine wanted to unite his people by merging Christs teachings with pagan teachings. It's historical fact you can research yourself. This created a hybrid form of Christianity and is where we see the very first occurrence teachings like the trinity inside the Christian congregation. As far as it being an "edited form of faith," that couldn't be farther from the truth. We do our utmost to adhere to the teachings of Christ, not watering it down like many do today to please themselves. (Matthew 15:1-9) . . .Then there came to Jesus from Jerusalem Pharisees and scribes, [Leaders of the Jewish faith] saying: 2 “Why is it your disciples overstep the tradition of the men of former times? For example, they do not wash their hands when about to eat a meal.” 3 In reply he said to them: “Why is it YOU also overstep the commandment of God because of YOUR tradition?..... And so YOU have made the word of God invalid because of YOUR tradition. 7 YOU hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about YOU, when he said, 8 ‘This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.’. . . God wants obedience to his word not traditions of men. Is there only one way to believe in Jesus? (Ephesians 4:4-6) . . .One body there is, and one spirit, even as YOU were called in the one hope to which YOU were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all [persons], who is over all and through all and in all. The Jehovah's Witnesses are the only Christian denomination who seem to have read the Bible and actually know what it says. The Trinity doctrine is false, by the way.

Not only do Jehovah's Witnesses consider themselves Christians, they are also under the impression that they are they only true Christians. That comes off as arrogant to me.

The simple answer is the DEVIL....... Contrary to some publicity made concerning "Jehovah's Witnesses," Pastor Russell is not the founder of this religious group. He has never associated with "Jehovah's Witnesses" nor did he ever claim the name. Pastor Charles T. Russell died in 1916. The "Jehovah's Witnesses" came into existence later. Associating Pastor Russell with "Jehovah's Witnesses" leaves the decidedly mistaken view that their teachings and beliefs are alike. Such is not the case. Pastor Russell founded what has been called The Bible Student's Association. This movement had its beginning in Allegheny, Pa. and earnest Christians formed a Bible class for advanced Bible study to meet the then rising wave of infidelity. In 1879 Zion's Watch Tower was formed, later known as The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. This Society did not become the central authority for the Bible Students, for all cooperating congregations of Bible Students held strictly to congregational self-government. The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society only served to coordinate the activities of the various congregations. After the death of Pastor Russell in 1916 the purpose of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society changed completely. The teachings of the six volumes of "Studies in the Scriptures" and other writings of Pastor Russell were discarded. The congregations in harmony with the Society thereafter relinquished congregational rule. The Society became the central head and authority over all congregations willing to yield their sovereignty. Basic doctrines of the Society seriously digressed from the teachings of Pastor Russell, and before long Judge Rutherford declared that those associated with The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society were "Jehovah's Witnesses" on this earth. Here is where the name emerged -- certainly not in Pastor Russell's time.

Yup
The only place that the JW's get their teachings from is the bible. And no, not from "their bible", I mean the BIBLE. I'll admit there are a couple of issues that I don't totally agree with them on, but as far as their basic teachings go, I haven't seen one that isn't compatible with scripture. Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate holiday, and yet every time around Easter, I'll be passing by a church, and I'll see decorations, and people saying "happy easter", not know that the holiday is really a pagan holiday celebrating fornication. JW's oppose the war, following Jesus' command to "Love your enemies". Weather you agree with their teachings or not, it seems like their the only ones who are actually obeying what the Bible teaches, and keeping paganism out of the Bible, and staying with true Christian faith.

Because the finance that was intrusted in Russel to create the organization was NOT for a real christian organization. On the cover of one of Russels most venerated books was the winged disc known in gnostic circles as the Eyptian sun god RA........Why ? The very first magazine was called Zion's Watchtower, and in the upper left hand corner of the cover is the official logo for the ancient and accepted scottish / york rite of freemasonry. You wondered...." why all the different denominations?". Well, early christians fellowshipped in homes, they had to as to not be killed. They had NO such thing as a church building. But after the Roman opposition was sick and tired of trying to elliminate the pesky christians...It was adopted as the Roman state religion as a deception (keep your enemies close) which led to all of the corruption and seperation we've all seen up until today.
