Which phone should I get?
-
So I'm getting a new phone. My choices are an iPhone 4 with 8GB or a Motorola PHOTON™ 4G, both the same price. The problem is that I'm more familiar with ianything than a android phone. My biggest concerns are the camera, music and apps. I am more familiar with the Apps through apple products so I'm leaning towards the iPhone for that. The thing with the android is that EVERY app is free. For the camera, the android would be the winner hands down. I know that. But the music part is my biggest dilema. The android doesn't hold iTunes. I would want the iPhone because it has iTunes and I can easily get my songs and stuff and it would be easier for me. The android goes with Windows Media, which i have, but i have to transfer all my songs on to that and I'm not really sure how to. I've tried before and failed. And i don't know how to get new songs on the android. I also have 50 dollars worth of gift card money via iTunes. The android comes with 16GB plus a memory card and the iPhone would have only 8GB. Finally, with the android i would still be using my sister's OLD ipod with 4GB to store some of my music. I mean it's pretty old. 2nd generation of nanos. scary i know. SO...what should i get?

Hi, I just read this article about selling old gift cards. Maybe you could sell your old gift card and get some cash or buy a different one. http://voices.yahoo.com/gift-cards-them-out-wallet-put-some-11267724.html

One thing for sure. Make sure the rechargeable battery is readily available and not too expensive. Recently I had to send away for the battery, only Radio Shack has them but must be ordered with shipping costs. $19.00

I would steer you away from the iphones the iphone 4 drops calls and is not recommended by Consumer Reports: http://www.pcworld.com/article/200924/consumer_reports_throws_iphone_4_under_the_bus.html With android, you get more free apps. For example angry birds is free with android whereas you have to buy it with apple, or use their "free" version which has a big ad blocking part of the screen getting in the way of gameplay. Furthermore, with iphone you do not get Adobe Flash which is required to view videos on many websites, it is a common complaint among iphone users. Plus you cannot expand memory with iphone if you run out of space but with android you just add a card up to 32gb and you're good to go. Android phones are usually superior in technical specs, faster and more customizable. It is the smarter choice, that is why it leads the global market in smartphones today even with apple selling a lot of their iphones cheap or free.
