Is it possible to study zoology at university with only one science at A-level? (A* in biology)?
-
Basically at GCSE level I obtained A's and A*'s in all of my sciences and I was extremley confident in them, I even won the school science trophy when my GCSE's where over. But then I had to move school to study biology, chemistry and creative media (a double award national diploma worth two A-levels). So basically when I started my new school my biology was brilliant, I achieved top grade in the year and I am very proud of it but then there's my chemistry; My chemistry used to be brilliant, I achieved top grades in every module at GCSE level however, whenever I started chemistry in my new school my chemistry teacher made me feel like an outsider, like I wasn't good enough for his class and it was horrable, all I get from him is critisism and he literally makes me nervous, I hate him as a teacher as he seems to go out of his way to make me feel like I will never achieve and like I'm not worth it. When it came to my first A-level modules I basically didn't even have to make an effort to get top marks in my biology, I just soaked everything up in class but with my chemistry I tried so hard to make sense of things but I just hate it so much and I can't get it out of my head that I can't do well in it, so I did the exam and got a U along with three other people in my class. I am going to have to drop it (and to think I used to be so good at it) . The only thing I will have to offer universities in an exchange for a zoology course is a really high grade in biology (my teachers think I can pull off an A*) and a BB equivalent in creative media (which was a filler subject), it has taught me how to use creative software, make excellent use of internet resources, self teach and how to do write professional reports... Lots of professional reports! But I just don't know if it's enough to satisfy university requirements for zoology; now about the zoology I have allways wanted to study animals and animal science and it has been a dream for me really, from a young age. I have applied for a 6 week bursury in animal science so I can experience it first hand, I just don't know if it can compensate for only one science. Here is the course I want to do; http://www.qub.ac.uk/home/StudyatQueens/CourseFinder/UCF2013-14/?y=1314&id=C3&rp=az Apologies for any grammatical errors (I typed this on my phone).

Answer:
Uggh, sorry I didn't read the whole thing. This sort of depends on where you want to study it. I'm very sure you could get D's or at least C's in all your classes and still study Zoology in college if you go to an open enrollment college. If you want to get in a really nice school then I suppose it would depend on the school. If you're so good at all this and you don't meet some requirement, but your confident in your relevant knowledge, contact the admissions department and see if there's anything you can do to show them why you'd be better than someone else whom makes the cut.
