How do I improve my Gymnastics skills?

GYMNASTS HELP! Should I do gymnastics? (details included)?

  • I'm going to be a sophomore in high school next year, and I'm thinking of joining a new sport to get involved. About three years ago, I quit gymnastics, which I had also done for a few years which i loved to do and I'm still obsessed with the sport. I still have some of the basic skills, but obviously I'll need to work hard to play catch up. pros: i am obsessed with the sport, i love it cons: I am really old to be 'starting over' because most girls start really young and go continuously, so i'd have to be in a class with much younger girls, which i don't mind, but i just don't know if ill be good enough to compete in the next few years, and there isn't much of a point spending all that money on gymnastics if i won't be able to compete in high school ( my school has a no-cut gymnastics program, but they still only let certain people compete). So i guess my question comes down to is it too late for me start again? I am athletic and in good shape, I am a volleyball player, so i have strong legs, arms, and core, as well as speed. and if it isn't, how long would you say it would take me to progress through the levels again? I would put myself at a level two, because i doubt that i have any skills remaining on bars right now. If i started training at a gym in june, do you think i would improve enough to go out for my high school team in november? Sorry, that was long, but thanks so much!

    no, you are never too old, unless you are like 30 but you can still do it and when you can try to go to open gyms as much as possible and practice like at least 2 or 3 hours everyday so work hard!!!! :D Hope I Helped!
