How to get triathlon sponsorship?

  • How to get triathlon sponsorship? Hello, I am 16 years old and I competitively do triathlons, as well as other sports such as cross country and track. I do normally medium/small triathlons such as the mooseman international, which is about a 1 mile swim, 26 mile bike, and 6 mile run if you were unsure of the distance. I've always just been curious on how possible a sponsorship would be, and what would I have to do to get one. Would I have to place very well overall, or maybe contact some shops? I completed the mooseman last year but I won't lie i was not very good in comparison to other people, I was probably in and around the middle of the pack place wise. But essentially how, or is even a sponsorship possible for someone in my position. Thanks for your time!P.S I know triathlon doesn't quite fit in this category but I figured it'd have the most informed answers.

Just get a list of things together of what events you plan to do and how you promote the company's product/image. And don't forget to sell yourself because that's what they are looking for, a sales person at events.

You need to be good, ranking inside the top 10 at least and in multiple races. Then, it's just a matter of calling up the company, and asking for one.
