Good vacations without cars?

Is 7 cars for 3 people justifiable?

  • There's 3 people in my family (My parents and I). We have seven cars: Dad: 97' Jaguar xk8 00' Porsche 911 04' BMW 760li Mom: 11' BMW 650i (leased) 11' BMW 760li (leased) 03' Land Rover Range Rover Me: 03' Mercedes sl55 A lot of people have told me that my family having all these cars are ridiculous and a waste of money, but in reality they were all bought used and with the money we spent on them we could have maybe bought 3 new Hondas. People tell me that we should have put the money towards charity and stuff. My dad is a car fanatic; he uses the jaguar in the summer, the porsche is his 'track' car and the bimmer is his daily driver. My mom is a business woman, so she uses the 7 series when she meets and drives with clients and the 6 series is her weekend/joy car when shes not working. The range rover is more of a family car when we take vacations or bring the dog to the vet and stuff. Is this not okay? Why do people think we shouldn't have that many cars if their all used a lot?

  • Answer:

You got money, you choose to spend it on cars, what's the problem with that? Heck, Jay Leno supposedly has a garage FULL of cars ... way more than 7! For ONE driver. If he can own 20+ cars I guess your family canm own 7. If you can keep up the maintenance and lease payments, I don't care if the three of you own 100 cars! You don't need to defend or justify owning 7 cars. It's you right to buy anything you want with your money.

Totally justifiable. When someone asks me why I bought another firearm I simply say, "You didn't have to pay for it. I need not justify my actions to you." Purchase justified.

Who cares? As long as you aren't parking them illegally it really doesn't matter, although it would be really neighborly if you took up all the parking on your street and didn't leave enough for your neighbors.

The only waste of money I know about is the government's so called "war on poverty" and it's so called "war on drugs".Well, and all the rest of the money government wastes. If you earn money, then spend it however you see fit.If you got some enjoyment out of it,I don't consider it a waste.People are criticized for buying yachts, but those who criticize fail to realize all the families that make their living building yachts.Just do your thing and to hell with stupid people and their opinions.

If someone really loves cars and they can afford it so be it. However, if someone is just buying cars for "bragging rights" or what have you that is a bit over the top. Why not just live with what you really need?

Is it exessive... Sure is. But it's your money, spend it however you'd like.

There is no question here. I believe you are bragging. And posting this just to let people know what you have. So just who are these people telling you this? Family? Random strangers?
