Why are the majority of people unaware of larger cup sizes?

  • I've seen many people question what comes after DDD, and I don't know why. Why are people unaware that US sizes go up to a P(LL UK)? I'm 17 with 30M(US), and I don't get why anytime I state my breast size, people give me an incredulous look. The majority of women are in the wrong bra. I used to believe that I was a 34DDD and I was always in pain because of the fact that the bra was the wrong size. When I measured myself, I discovered I was wrong. I guess I should have stated instead, why are so many women in the wrong bra size and believe there aren't any bigger than a DDD? A 36 band is quite large. 30 isn't that small at all. 36 would assume that the woman would have some type of extra 'skin' to her, and since that's usually not the case, she's in the wrong bra.

    It's because of the misconception that all women fit into A-DD cups, and anything larger than that is freakish and abnormal. They think that cup sizes are the same no matter what your band size is. Lingerie companies (especially in the US) exacerbate this by only selling 32+ A-DD cups. Most women should actually be wearing band sizes that are smaller and cup sizes that are bigger. A 36 band would be pretty big, whereas a 30 band is probably close to average.

I think most women don't think that the bands are all that stretchy. Also most women think that a C cup is a C Cup no matter the size of the band. That's not the case.
