What cardio workouts are best for getting a 6 pack?

Hi, I have recently begun intense training and adapted my diet to get a better appearance and improve overall strength. I do home workouts once a day at high intensity which consists of abdominal exercises such as, crunches, planks etc and I also perform press ups and variated planks to improve arm and core strength. I am generally a very fit guy in terms of cardio being able to achieve 14 on the bleep test and have played football for many years. Okay so now I have told you a brief level of my fitness I now want to know what the best type of training method I should use to help with bringing out my abs. I hear interval training is good and effective and also when I carry out cardio would i do it before or after my upperbody workouts? Thanks

Some people work out in the morning low intensity before eating because the body eats the fat. Short bursts of intense training, such as a hard run for thirty seconds, thirty second rest, hard run thirty seconds....are best for burning fat. Everyone is different. Abdominal exercises only do so much. Abs start in the kitchen. If you are trying to tone up use a good diet in addition to exercise. I would suggest the cardio as a warmup and a warm down. If your energy level can take it.

The #1 thing to "bringing your abs out" is to lower BF%. You want to workout on an empty stomach when possible and to eat after that. I would recommend the cardio upon waking up if possible, otherwise some high intensity cardio before you lift weights and then your long endurance cardio after workout will give you the best results. Keep changing up your ab routine and increase the time and reps along with any weight that is used. You want some exercise where you go for high reps and others where you go for high weight. The idea is to keep challenging your abs in every different way possible. So, as long as you drop your BF% and continue on your great workouts you will be ready in no time.
