Mechanical Engineering Scholarships - help!?

• I am having the most difficult time looking for scholarships! It's challenging to find scholarships who's deadline's haven't already passed. I have already filled out all possible scholarships for the University itself. So far I only have $3,000 in scholarships. Background: I am an incoming female freshman for the University of Akron in Ohio. My major will be Mechanical Engineering. I plan on living on campus. I will definitely give out a best answer; that is, if you do in fact have an answer with direct links, helpful tips, etc.

  oh man, you are late! but there is always hope. go to NSF website wich is http://www.nsf.gov/ this is the most hopeful place to go to. you never mentioned your grads but sometimes your local state can find you last minute scholarships. you have to remember you have to contact prople from your state but if you are from Ohio here you to: http://www.house.state.oh.us/ there is this one also which you have to be very good student: http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/NewPrograms.jsp now look at this one and it will tell you if you fit in that smart grants: http://www.amedf.org/documents/ACGandSMART10-11.pdf now for last something that most people dont know anything about, try this one: http://ed.gov/about/offices/list/ope/iegps/index.html at the end you have talk to financial aid people from your highschool and new school that you're going to as well for anything that they may know.
