How to read sharps (#) on piano sheet music ?
-
Hi so I taught myself to play the piano. Its been like 3 years now. last year i taught myself how to read sheet music. I can read the notes(abcdefg..quarter,half,whole, etc.) I can read a bit for the bass line not much so that too. But when theres a flat sign next the tempo I know the notes change(like b becomes b flat) so how about sharps #? I see sheet music at the music store but most are sharps not flats. So can anyone give me tips to learn them. Plz thanks :)

Answer:
basically sharps are just the black keys one step (semitone) above the white key for example G# would be the black key just up from the G key however if you have something like E# it would only be F natural because there are no black keys between E and F, which is the same with B and C
