Why does the color of my eyes change?

Why do my eyes change color every so often?

• so my eyes change between brown (my base color that i always had since i was very young) to hazel (my father's eye color) to green (a random color that i dont know where that one comes from. im guessing its a latent gene but who knows). so i first noticed this a little while ago and i started getting curious. so i thought id ask. my girlfriend and i were in the car getting ice cream when she told me that i had green eyes and i couldnt believe it so i looked in the mirror and there it was. then the next day in school she we were walking down the hall and she turns to say bye and go to class when she spots them being a deep hazel color and my other friends have witnessed it too. so a little help would be nice please and thank you (:

  Lighting and the color of clothes you wear will change the perception of your eye color since they are a hazel color. I'm the same way, my eyes are green but sometimes they go from dark to light to-almost-yellowish color. Pretty cool if you ask me.
