  • I want to apply for a summer job at lush... i love the shop! I plan to talk to the manager and give my CV but when should I apply (I want to start from the second week in july)? I have demonstrated through my work as a tutor that I am an extremely dedicated, responsible and mature individual. I have been praised by the students’ parents as well as the students themselves for my ability to help students understand difficult concepts and my caring and approachable attitude. I really enjoy working with people and I am looking to broaden my horizons through a summer job in retail. Experience Tutor (2007-Present) • Over four years experience in tutoring children aged of 4-14 in Arabic. • One year experience tutoring a year 8 student in mathematics and science, resulting in a significant improvement of student’s academic levels. • Main roles of job involve interacting with parents to notify them of child’s progress and to encourage them to support child’s learning as well as providing individual support to each child’s learning. Volunteering at former primary school (2007-Present) • Creating flyers to advertise fundraising events as well helping to create the school prospectus and newsletters. • Helping to organise fundraising events. • Providing support within the classroom. • Supervising students for an off-site trip. Volunteering with St John Ambulance (October 2011- Present) • Meet with other members once a week. • Will soon undergo first aid training and will provide first aid at local community events. Volunteering as an EAL support worker (December 2011-Februaru 2011) • Teaching a seven year old student English as a foreign language at my former primary school. • Involves holding regular tutoring sessions twice a week and using a variety of different techniques to communicate with student. Two days shadowing a dentist at a local dental clinic (December 2011)   Approximately 30 hours of work experience at a small art business (November – February 2010) • Observing day-to-day running of a small business. • Taking a stock take. • Preparing mail order. Qualifications Completed GCSEs: GCSE Arabic – A* grade awarded in year 8 GCSE Mathematics – A* grade awarded in year 8 GCSE ICT – A* grade awarded in year 9 GCSE Design Technology – A* grade awarded in year 9 GCSE Physics – A* grade awarded in year 10 GCSE Biology – A* grade GCSE Chemistry – A* grade AS Level Mathematics – A grade Predicted grades of qualifications to be completed by June 2012: International GCSE English – A* International GCSE English Literature – A* International GCSE History – A* AS level Arabic – A A level Mathematics – A* Other Qualifications Durham University Certificate in Arabic and Arab Studies completed in June 2006, achieving an overall distinction. (Arabic was studied as a second language) Interests and Skills In my spare time I enjoy reading, swimming and working with computers on projects such as designing and creating logos. I also enjoy shopping, particularly at nice smelling stores!
