Seasonal Sales Associate at Toys ''R'' Us- Posted Apr 24, 2012 -Received and Accepted Offer- Interviewed Oct 2011 in Fayetteville, NC (took a day) I applied online and was called about 3 days later to come in the next day for an interview. The interview was with a group of people where we were told about the job and given time to select a toy and try to sell it to the interviewer. At the end we were told to wait outside the office and were called in one by one. I was offered the job and accepted. I was laid off on Christmas eve. Interview Questions I was asked my schedule availability which had to be completely open?. Other Details I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Group/Panel Interview, a Presentation and a Background Check. If there are rehires, they are very friendly with them and it makes you a bit uncomfortable. It starts with going around the room and introducing yourself. There is a stack on monopoly money on the table and you are asked to take as much as you want. You are then asked to tell one thing about yourself for every bill that you took. You are then told they will get back to you and within a day I had a call that they were doing a background check. Interview Questions No real questions were asked. Sales Associate at Toys ''R'' Us- Posted Apr 1, 2012-Received and Accepted Offer- Interviewed Nov 2011 in Brooklyn, NY (took 2 days) Originally applied for babies R Us as a seasonal employee. took me 5 times applying over a course of 3 years. After a week they called me. had a brief phone interview. Asked me what I knew of the company && why I wanted to work there. Then they asked me if i could come in for an interview. I showed up 20 minutes early && waited until all of the other applicants showed up. we had a group interview. We had a group ice-breaker, then we did puzzles, we were asked to present to seperate items and try to sell them together, then finally we were asked to write down 5 words that described our selves. They told us theyd call us that night to let us know if we had the job && to come in for orientation. I got called && they told me to come in the next day wearing either a black or purple polo, black or khaki pants, & sneakers or black shoes. Interview Questions What would you bring to the company? Describe yourself in 5 words?. Interview Questions You have to tear pieces of paper till you choose to stop. Then tell the interviewer that many things about you?. Sell a toy to the interviewer?. Had to sell a product to another applicant in front of the group?. Why do you want to work for Why Toys r us? After we had to pretend to be a favorite cartoon character and act like them without talking. Then the manager brought out a basket and dumped out a bunch of products and we had to sell it to them. (This was my most dreadful part, cause I felt like the attention was all on me, but it wasn't at all. Each person was focusing on what to say that they weren't even paying attention, and the manager was just smiling and nodding). I was hired.
