How can anybody make a liven on a $8.00 an hour job?

I got ripped off via greendot moneypak at my job, what is going to happen?

  • So I just started a job at a convenience store, I have been there for about a month and a half. It was about 1 hour before my shift ended when I got a phone call. The guy said that his name was jeff (cant remember his last name), and that he was the regional manager. He asked me who was working at 10:15 earlier that day, and I told him who, and he said that a customer filed a police report against the store because someone apparently cancelled the activation of the moneypak card after it was purchased. He said that he was having problems with the green-dot machine for a month already. Ill try to make this simple as possible. He asked me to go get two cards from the rack, and told me to activate them to see if they work. It was two cards totaling $800.00. He asked me to scratch off the numbers and read them to him.Figuring that he was the head honcho of the company, I didn't really think anything of it. He then told me that they weren't working, and mean he talked me through the process, so he definitely knew what he was doing. So by then it was time for me to go, as my relief came in the door the man was still on the phone, and the relief told him that he couldn't help him and the guy said that he would be there in about 20 mins. SO he hung up and my relief began to tell me that no matter who it is, you DON'T give any information over the phone, no matter WHO they say they are! I then realized after he called our manager, that I was scammed.. so the store lost out on 800 bucks! I am scared because I don't want to lose my job and certainly do not want them to think anything else like I was involved or something. I truly didnt know what the hell was going on before it was too late. So my question is would anyone know what might happen to me and my job? Aren't greendot cards traceable? what will happen?? any advice or input would be greatly appreciated

  • Answer:

You need to file a police report to see if they can trace that call
