Answer:
Rivers mother wanted her to be a nurse. My mother was an LPN, we had several RNs in the family. Rivers started out as a nurses aide, I worked for 4 months in a nursing home to see if I liked being in medicine and working with people. I did, and I could, and I saw what the LPNs did, and knew I could do that and more. So I went to LPN school and practiced for 10 years. At year 8, I bridged[I got credit for my LPN education and practice] into a RN program at the Jr. college. I went a 1 1/2, as opposed to the 2 years it can take. To be an CNA is the bottom of the barrel, and it is hard, back breaking work. But it is very rewarding. Seeing and knowing that just your touch, a warm washcloth, some advice that everything is Ok or they would not have sent a CNA into the room to give a bath is a great reward to show up the next day at work again. There are many things to do in the medical field, and dealing with the endless stacks of papers and all that info is one thing. go to school to learn medical chart coding, or be a secretary. Learn how to work the equipment in medicine. Be a x-ray tech, or work a CAT or MAR machine. Look for blood clots in a leg, or see into someones abdominal organs. Work in maintenance or housekeeping, work in the kitchen, go to school for a degree there, be a dietitian. Bing a MA, you work in an office, generally, and do what the doctor says. There was an MA in my ortho doctor's office, he applied splints and casts, with training. He is my ortho Dr. now. He used his experience to become a better doctor. CNA education is faster. cheaper, and puts you into direct contact with the patients as soon as your hospital orientation is over. You will get to see and hear what the nurses do, and know if you want that or not. A nurse is your boss.

That is way too much for a MA education-is that at a CC? Which ones depends on which area you are interested in. CNA works under a nurse in a nursing home, hospital etc. MA assists clinicians, front & back office in a private practice, urgent care. clinic etc.
