  there is no political science field. There is a liberal arts political science degree that emphasizes critical thinking and social behaviour. It is a good background for most support type jobs and government jobs, but not required. Engineering, technology, health, nursing are vocational type degrees. You graduate and work in those areas, often at a nice salary. Liberal Arts is education for education's sake. You learn use full things along the way, but except for education, there is no career path. Liberal arts graduates start at the bottom rung, but because they have been pre-certified as intelligent and trainable, they are quickly promoted.
