What kinda jobs can people behind the camera do?

Careers with a camera?

• What type of careers should I be looking at? I'm a sophomore in high school and really don't know what to do. For the last 4-5 years I wanted to be a photographer, but now that doesn't even seem like a real career. The old people hold the good jobs, and the decent jobs are flooded by young "professional photographers". I mean no disrespect for the younger photographers out there, it just seems like everybody is one nowadays. I really want to start making videos like fake car ads, documentary type stuff, or just random action scenes. If I like making that stuff, and coming up with video ideas, what type of jobs are out there for the likes of me?  I don't want to be a camera operator because I would rather have more creative freedoms, but film production schools seem to be looked at as a joke. I would love to work with some small agency that's hired to make advertisements and than comes up with the ideas and film it (if such a perfect thing even exists). I just want a great career where I can have a camera in my  bag and still put bread on the table.
