What do you know about the company Vector?

Job Reviews on Vector marketing?

  • I recently went on a job interview for a company called Vector in Farmington Hills, MI.. They assured me that there would be no marketing or telemarketing. Only customer service with a flat rate pay. When I walked in for the interview I noticed a row of computers, 15 clipboards with about 50 applications on each one, and 8 other applicants there. Three employees of Vector were on the phone setting up more interviews. I took a clipboard and sat in a room with the others. I asked them did they know about the company and what will we actually be doing. Nobody knew!!! I then noticed that each interview was only about 3 minutes long and the application ask too much about my work history. When it was my turn the interviewerassured me that it wasn't a telemarketing job again. They didn't give any explanation on what the company does. But when I googled them I found out that it is a marketing company. I want to if anyone knows about them or worked for them before? And is it the scam I think it is?

  • Answer:

It probably is. Especially if everybody in that room was hired.

Vector Marketing is the 'advertising' part behind a well-known cutlery brand called "Cutco Cutlery". While the marketing aspect of Cutco Cutlery often markets their jobs as 'customer service', there is in fact some 'selling' involved! However, Using the 'internet' as we know it today...not way back in the mid 90's when I started, it's a lot easier now to 'market' the Cutco Cutlery brand as ever before! In years past, you had to make sales by 'testing' your sales presentation on friends/family members and then ask for 'referrals'...or have the balls to walk into a well-known restaurant and try and sit down with the head-chef and tell them that their current brand of knives are not match to Cutco! Today though, with social media websites (Twitter, Facebook, Youtube), it's a lot easier now to market Cutco and in the process, make a nice steady income via a commission! I think anyone with an interest in 'technology' should give it a go, because the company "Vector Marketing" does have some solid information/resources on how to go about 'marketing' the cutlery and how to gain more customers!
