Help with the PS3 Controller for Rayman 2 on Windows 7.?

I have just downloaded Rayman 2: The Great Escape off GOG.com but I’m struggling with setting my controller to play on it. I was told that you can set your PS3 controller to play on your computer but I’m struggling to do so. I downloaded something I think was called ‘motionjoy’ which was suppose to work but it only connects to the computer and not to the game (if that makes sense) basically i go on the game and try and connect the controller but it never picks it up! If anybody knows another way to make it work please let me know, thanks. Full Marks for the answer that works Thanks again.

I think you can only connect a wired Xbox 360 controller to a computer.
