Is this PC capable of playing games such as Portal?

Why do I have Low FPS when playing games on a BRAND NEW PC?

  • Hello all. I recently bought a new PC (for the purpose of gaming) and for some reason the new PC is running games worse than my old one. League of Legends for example, is running at 60 fps on my old PC, but 25-30ish on the new one. World of Warcraft is another example. Runs better on the old PC than the new one (muss less choppy). All of the performance/video settings are the same on both, so thats not the explanation. Any assistance would be great! Here are the specs of the two PCs: Old PC: Processor: Intel Quad Core Q6600 @ 2.4GHz RAM: 4 Gigs OS: Windows 7 32-bit Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 5750. New PC: Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz Quad-Core RAM: 8 Gigs OS: Windows 7 64-bit Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti I can attach more info if you feel it's needed. I've got it in a technicians hands right now, but he doesn't seem understand what's wrong with it as hes not used to dealing with game-performance issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated!     Update drivers, update windows, get latest direct X etc.. Good luck mon amigo. Is the computer recognizing all of the hardware properly?

Have you tried updating drivers? Have you checked that the settings are DEFINITELY the same? PROBABLY THE MOST SILLY ONE! Have you got your monitor plugged into your motherboard instead of graphics card by accident?
