Youtube Question! Uploading A Video With Music- Copyright Infringement. Please Answer!?
-
I am not partnered on youtube but I do have an adsense account where I earn profit off certain advertizements. My videos cannot be monetized if there is any copyrighted music, photos, videos etc. My brother has given me written permission to use his music, I've credited his music in every single video mentioned, and Ive left links to where his music can be purchased in the information bar and youtube still won't monetize my videos. Idk what else to do! How can I get passed youtube's copyright laws? Whether it be editing the song in garage band or editing the file itself? Or if anyone knows a website to get royalty free music for popular well know songs? Anything will help! Please help me upload music to my videos without losing monetization!

Youtube is famous for not allowing you to upload because of the fair(y) use laws, etc. You are definitely not doing anything illegal. Contact Youtube/Google about it. Tell them what you put up here on Answers. They should allow it. BTW, if you want to watch a (what I would call) funny video about fairy use (which Disney is famous for making you feel like an escaped convict for, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bK8AZSYtPU Youtube just doesn't want to be caught in the middle of a potential lawsuit.

Go into your video manager. Where the videos in question say "Matched third party content, click on it. It'll give you the opportunity to dispute. This is still fairly new territory to everyone. I too, have been unfairly bitten by the "Copyright Nazis". If you would like to invest in good royalty free music, visit Smartsound.com. For examples of their music in use, click on my channel below. Good luck!

Have you tried contacting Youtube to ask what they require? I would think that they may need the registration number from ASCAP or SOCAN or whatever copyright collective he has registered the copyrighted song.
