How do we make and upload a music video for youtube?

OK so my friends and I would like to do a spoof of a One Direction song. We would just like to use the same beat they used (not creating our own), but incorporate our own lyrics and voices. We would also like to shoot a music video for it, with us lip-syncing to our pre-recorded track with the beat in the background. What type of things should we use to make our music video? For an example, we would like to do one just like "Key of Awesome" spoof of One Direction. Your help is greatly appreciated.

You should be able to source an instrumentals-only version of the song if you do a bit of Googling around. You could pull it all together using Windows Movie Maker and a video camera (derp). Good luck trying to get the lip synching to sync to a decent degree!

buy or download (what ever u do) the music track, without the words. if you have a mac record a video of you singing (you can mute it after) your song to the 1d music. then, drag it on and cut of little bits so that its in time. then do a voice over of you guys singing it, and hopefully if you sing at the same pace it should match. when you have the video of u guys singing, highlight bits that arent important and check how long they r (lets say 7 seconds..?) then delete the bit and record another video 7 seconds long and insert it in... hope i helped somehow!
