Can you use any image from Google on Wikipedia?

Can I use an image from wikipedia or from google image search and use that to publish my paper in a journel?

  • kindly reply...

  • Answer:

Those two sources are entirely different. Wikipedia images are generally available for free use, while Google just indexes images from the web, most of which are not available for free use. Merely noting the source of a copyright image does *not* make it ok or legal. You have to get permission to use such an image. _

Other answers

If the journal is professionally published they will have strict rules about sourcing and using images which you should clarify with them first.

As long as you reference the image , by providing a reference list , caption or a link back to the place you got it from .
