How do you search DOM elements using CSS selectors in Chrome?

Why does dictionary.com search skip to Google search tab while using Google Chrome?

  • Hello, I often use Dictionary.com's search feature using Chrome. Every one in a while, after I type my search term into the Dictionary.com webpage's search box and press enter, it skips to a Google search tab and gives me the Google results instead, or sometimes will go directly to a Google search from the Dictionary.com webpage in the same tab. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Has this happened to anyone else before when doing non-Google searches in Google? I have feeling it has something to do with the (Google) Chrome browser. Thanks/Merci !

  • Answer:

Not only Chrome it also problem in firefox browser. When you install Dictionary.com add-ons on your browser. You must agree to their search engine is default search engine. For that when you type in google search bar it instead into their own search field. For installing add-ons they disable google search engine. Every time it would be repeat while you un-install or disable this add-ons.
