How to ice skate? I dont know how?

Well, let's use LOGIC here for a moment. Smooth = less friction = glide. Angled/grinding = more friction = slower. Duh. C'mon, you're 15, you should have learned that in school at least. You should not even be thinking about "going faster" yet. Those words should not even be thought of, let alone said. You should focus on being able to stay upright and know how to stop before you go faster. There's nothing more dangerous on the ice than an idiot racing around at top speed who can't stop or even stay upright properly. While roller blading helps, if you don't already know how to roller blade, then I wouldn't waste your time and I'd just hop straight on the ice. Take it slow. Don't rush it. Keep your knees bent, don't lean backwards. The idea is that you push with the inside of the blades, not the toe or any other part. If you really want to learn, why not take lessons?

Ok well the first thing is that it it is GREAT that you skated before, that means that you still now a bit in the back of your mind. I have only been figure skating for about (4) months now so i dont know a whole lot. About the blade, that varies. Sometime you need to angle it to the inner part or sometime the outter, when just ice skating bend a bit torward the inner. You are right about speed and balance. I did not no this until my friend told me about a year ago, but roller skating is actually M.U.C.H. harder if you are a figure skater because they are not related at ALL. Your goes in a different position. So learn on ice if you want to ice skate. I would suggest if you have a friend who ice skates, ask them to teach you. Teaching is easy if you have a quarter and make them go along side the wall trying to go around the whole rink in little portions so that they dont think about what the whole distance is.
