Tips for running a mile in a gym?

Running the mile in gym?

  • Hey, I'm a 8th grade girl running "the" mile in gym tomorrow. I was looking for any tips for a good time. I do soccer, basketball, and track (sprinting). So I am fast for short sprints and not exaclty used to running a mile. But considering I am fit and in shape I have the ability to do weel. Thanks!

  • Answer:

Here's what I do: Start fast (slow sprint) and hold it for the first two hundred meters or so, then start settling into a pace you feel like you can hold for the rest of the run. Around the third lap you should start feeling like you need to slow down; don't. Just keep trucking. Depending on whether or not you're looking to beat a time or someone else, either start speeding up at the beginning of the fourth lap and build up into an all-out sprint for the last hundred meters, or hold your pace until the last hundred meters. Then you can give it all.

So what is your question...? If you are fit.. You should do fine. It is not too challenging. I ran it in gym last week. Very tiring but you feel good after.
