How can I get faster in the 100m?

  • First of all, I'm a freshman girl. I love Track so much, I have so many goals in the future for Track, I plan on going to the Olympics in Brazil in 2016, and I train so hard every single day and do insanity workouts. I don't drink soda, don't eat chips, cookies, fast food, none of that bull. So I'm good about my workouts and eating right, but I need to know techniques for running the 100m better. All I know is I need to practice good on my starting block position, relax my face while running, getting a high knee drive, long strides, run with open hands(which I always do), concentrate, focus; as i start when i hear the gun, lean my body forward till i see the triangles on the track, slowly come up, and accelerate. I'm pretty fast, but I just want to get better, because I know there are some really good schools out there, and I also use ankle weights when I practice so i can start to get used to them and get fast with them, and once im fast with them, i'd be so light footed and fast. and I just want to be the best. Any suggestions or ideas? I would really appreciate it! And are there any specific foods that would help with my speed?

    to get faster, you train harder and correctly. also would have been nice to know your time. get a coach. he will help you. you wont make it to the top without one.
