How can I get my tongue to heal fast?

I am trying to get my tongue pierced but hide it from my parents, how long does it typically take to heal?

  • Or at least to the point where I can hide from them! When I say that, I referring to talking extremely funny or I can take it out for an hour then put it back in? Please any and all details are appreciated!

    It takes probably up to 6 months to heal fully - maybe longer in some cases. Not everyone speaks with a lisp (edit: lisp, not lip xD), but it is difficult due to the tongue swelling up in the first week or so. You probably could take it out for an hour, but if it's new I wouldn't advise on it. Tongue and lip piercings close up pretty quickly (close up as in you can't get the bar through, not heal up: that takes a lot longer) sometimes even within half an hour. Obviously, the longer you have it done, the longer it would take to heal up fully (up to a certain point.)

You will talk with a lisp for a while and it will be really difficult to hide this from your parents. Never get a face piercing (including tongue) if you're planning on keeping it from your parents.

if u underage bad idea, that could lead to a lawsuit, if ur of age it deppends on the person. i'd say max about 2 weeks for the swelling to go down. but the tongue is hard to hide bc it mess's up ur speech when its swelling

You can't take it out and you will speak with a lisp until you are used to it. It can't be hidden.
