Peruvian artist?

HELP! how can i get a artist at shop to fix another artists' at that shops work? PLEASE READ!?

  • ok ive been going to one artist since jan (my 2-4th tat, first was 4 years ago) on sat i went there but my artist was sick so I had another from the shop do my tat, its on the inside of my wrist and is 3"x3" penguin butterfly tat (google it to see what it looks like as a clip art) i was quoted by my artist that it would be around 40 mins. this other guy said 1 hr; it ended up taking almost 3 hrs (2 hr 45 min) my quarter sleeve took only 2 hr 15 min. at the end he said that my skin just wouldnt hold any more ink. this guy has been tattooing for over 15 years, he was just really really slow (hes in his early 40s). almost all the scabs have came off but it looks terrible! the ink looks really faded, and even the blacks dont look completely black (can still see my skin underneath like a dark grey) my question is will my artist be able to fix my tattoo when i go in next week (was orginally going to wait 1 month until i got my next one; but i cant live with this tat it literally makes me cry when i see it) their stalls are right next to each other in the shop (they work from commission not booth rental) i am willing to pay extra when i get my new tat just so he can fix it.but i dont want to burn a bridge all the guys at shop are friends. i know the other guy will touch it up for free but dont really want him touching me. also why would he say that my skin wouldnt hold any more ink? this guy also tattooed different he would use the ink to spray ink on spot then push needle down on ink. i havent watched my artist too closely but i know he does do it because as he tats it feels smooth; instead of feeling the anticipation of the needle coming once i feel the ink on top of my skin. my artist never had problems with this and i usually dont even need a touch up on his work. i know this is long but please any advice would be great! this is the shop i want to get everything done at i just dont want to hurt feelings/ or burn a bridge. but i want it fixed! please write something; dont just read thanks i know that i can use my artist to fix it; but how do i bring it up so that i dont burn a bridge or upset the other artist (whos right next to his stall; so can hear) this is my shop i iwll get everything at; i dont want it to be weird or awkward?

  • Answer:

You go and say that you want your regular artist, now that he is not sick, and just smile and wait to have him work with you. You may be able to convey to him what you want as to changes without making a big deal of it, just don't worry about it. They are used to people wanting changes and working with that. As far as the other artist being nearby, just be clear on the changes that you want, but don't complain about the existing work. Just say, 'I'm not completely happy with this area, can you do this or that to make it more like .... ' Say things like - you want all of your tattoos to flow well together, and that is why you want the one tattoo artist so that the style is the same. etc. You may be able to email your regular artist ahead of time to explain in more depth, .. but again, don't complain about the other guy, but just say that it is not how you envisioned it, and there are areas that you want to have reworked by him to make it look more like how your other tattoos are done. Be friendly and smile at the other guy, but say you want to stick to the guy who has done your other work so that it all works together well. luck~
